Exquisite Films got it RIGHT with the casting of the Xena Warrior Princess porn parody! I can't help but comment positively.

A Monica Foster commentary: As I'm sure many of you can tell, I have condemned the Los Angeles Porn Industry to hell. Though I'd rather not EVER say ANYTHING positive towards virtually ANY aspect of the Los Angeles porn industry at this stage - in this particular instance...I must.

FINALLY someone has properly cast a porn parody. I really couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the Xbiz.com website this morning. Exquisite Films has wrapped up the production of a Xena Warrior Princess Porn parody featuring PHOENIX MARIE!

Now I'm not saying that this porn parody of Xena will be any good when it comes down to production quality, acting, etc (I'd be shocked if it was) - HOWEVER the casting of Phoenix Marie as Xena was a brilliant move!

Last week while I was scanning the Los Angeles porn agency websites to see who's new in the Los Angeles talent pool, and upon checking out 101modeling.com (who I personally believe to be the Noah's Ark of the porn industry) I noticed that Phoenix Marie is looking better than ever. She ditched the bleached blonde look for dark locks and I commented immediately to a friend that she's a dead ringer for Lucy Lawless.

I should have known that this project was in the works considering her new look. Now if I knew Phoenix Marie, at this phase I'd say "Girl, at this stage you could make a KILLING just making appearances at comic conventions, parties, etc as Xena Warrior Princess - ditch the porn lifestyle and go mainstream".

Considering that mainstream Hollywood has been void of Lucy Lawless for years now, I'm willing to bet that there are SEVERAL mainstream movies and other projects that would snatch up Phoenix Marie for various roles in the blink of an eye.

Come to think of it, I remember when this porn studio first put out a casting notice for the Xena role and I immediately thought about Angelina Armani (who also has a striking look). In this instance Phoenix is a better fit for the Xena role considering she has a more "womanly" and "mature" look opposed to Angelina, but Angelina too, has an appearance that echos a younger Lucy Lawless. Actually, from what I'm aware of Angelina has managed to attain some mainstream work and move away from the porn industry - I think Phoenix Marie could do the same.

I personally hope that Exquisite Films puts some real effort into this parody. I'm a die hard fan of the show Xena Warrior Princess. I have viewed every single Xena episode and movie in existence. I know the plots and characters backwards and forwards. Considering the vast amount of porn out there that is incredibly degrading and demeaning to women I truly pray that Exquisite has painted the Xena character in a light that projects female empowerment, independence, spirituality and sisterhood, because that's what the series was all about at it's core (yes I'm aware that this movie is "just a xxx parody" but that doesn't mean it can't be done well).



The American female market has consistently been neglected and untapped by much of the Los Angeles porn industry - if produced properly - this parody could be a trend setter.

I really hope Phoenix Marie was able to pull a bit of her dominant spirit from the closet for this role. Word on the street is that she's been the ultimate submissive for years now when it comes to BDSM shoots. I do hope that she was able to turn the tables for this project.

Exquisite Films has raised the bar for the Los Angeles porn industry in regards to properly casting the lead role for a porn parody. I hope the other losers and morons in Porn Valley take notice of this rare occurrence and follow Exquisite Film's lead.
