For today’s adult film directors, porn’s overwhelming abundance on the Internet has raised the creative stakes as production houses strain to develop pay-to-play content more compelling than what’s already available online for free. The main ingredient, of course, is always sex, but for producers like 31-year-old Los Angeles native Stephen Vanasco, who goes by the directorial alias, Van Styles, making the sex both unique and worth purchasing is a delicate balancing act between compressing fantasy and stretching reality.

As one of the adult industry’s youngest and more successful directors, Van Styles got his start as a skateboarder both as as a sponsored amateur and personal filmer to many up-and-coming pros in California’s San Fernando Valley. His skateboarding career, however, took a major turn when he met adult industry mogul, Christian Mann.

“I got a chance to run a skate camp for kids at a skatepark in Northridge one summer,” says Styles.

“A guy named Christian Mann, who at the time owned a company called, Video Team, had his three sons enrolled in my camp. One day his youngest son was telling me what his dad did and I started talking to him about the adult business. I met him, he took an interest in me and things just developed from there.”

Under Mann’s direction, Styles went on to produce the now cult-status, skateboarding-themed porno film, Skate Trixxx. “Christian wanted to do a movie that was skate-themed,” says Styles. “He felt that having a real skateboarder involved with the project would give it legitimacy versus having someone from the adult industry trying to do it. I casted a hot actress as a cop and had her kick these young guys out of a skate spot. You can guess what happened next. It was pretty tongue and cheek. [laughs]”

Today Van Styles holds down a full time position with adult media giant, Reality Kings, where he produces, directs, shoots and edits gonzo [a reality-based, straight-to-the sex genre of porn] for a number of different adult sites under the Reality Kings umbrella. He also works extensively with adult film star Jenna Haze and her production company, Jennaration X Studios.

“It was definitely a big change,” says Styles in reference to his transition from skate filmer to porn director. “It’s obviously two different worlds and two totally different types of content. One is hanging out with your friends in a school yard shooting skateboarding and the other is filming two people who are super casual about being naked and having sex in front of total strangers. It was shocking to see people who were that open and that liberal about doing stuff like that.”

Recently though, Styles has been focusing on his digital still photography—embracing an aesthetic slightly askew from what you might expect from someone who spends his waking hours getting second and third angles of some of the raunchiest and rawest sex scenes imaginable. Similar to the more artistic approaches taken by adult starlet and photographer, Sasha Grey, in her 2011 book release, NEÜ SEX, or even some of the images seen from celebrated New York fashion photographer, Terry Richardson, the adult stars in front of Styles’ lens are portrayed as raw, natural and in some cases catalog-esque beautiful in an almost ironic sense.

His photos aren’t always nudity free, but for women who are usually captured in extreme sexual situations, Styles says there’s something erotic and enticing about seeing porn stars photographed clothed and in otherwise normal settings. “With my pictures, especially with a star like Asa Akira, who’s done a lot of intense anal sex scenes, DP [double penetration] scenes and who’s got tons of porno-looking photos all over the web, there’s an appeal to seeing her portrayed in a different light.”

Although most of the female subjects Van Styles shoots appear in mainstream adult films, he says there’s a completely different conversation addressed in his photos that reveal a more intimate and personal side to the actresses he works with. “It’s a different approach because there’s no hardcore sex or hardcore nudity going on,” he says. “It’s a different mentality on those shoots. The typical porn shoot formula has been run into the ground. I think the newer breed of people who work in porn and the newer viewers of porn are looking for something a little more visually stimulating—stuff that leaves things up to the imagination more.”

But as the social web continues to pervade modern culture, less and less gets left up to the imagination—especially when it comes to porn and porn stars. The rapidly growing Instagram community and the Twittersphere have given adult entertainers new access to their fans and an ability to self publish their own content in unprecedented new ways. “It gives people a twenty-four-seven look into their daily and nightly lives,” says Styles.

“It’s really increased communication between the actresses and the fans. Now you can pull out your iPhone and see what Jenna Haze is up to. You can comment and more than likely she’ll respond. You can see what their daily lives are like or see what they’re like at home. It’s raw, self-produced content and fans love it.”

Many of the adult stars Styles works with including names like Bella Donna, Jenna Haze, Kristina Rose, Asa Akira and Bree Olson have tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers—making their appeal and influence as public figures undeniable. “These girls are celebrities just like anyone else in Hollywood,” says Styles. “Many of them are very savvy with Twitter and Instagram and market themselves, their projects, their websites, their events and their press heavily. It’s been a powerful tool for them.”

A big part of that influence, like any celeb, is the ability to promote product—an arena where Van Styles has been able to involve his love for skateboarding and streetwear brands by photographing stars wearing branded apparel. “I’ve been a fan of skateboard culture and streetwear culture forever,” he says. “A lot of the time, I’m introducing the girls to the product. They’ll see me wearing something or I’ll turn them on to a brand’s website.”

Over the years, Styles’ frequent Instagram or blog photos showcasing porn actresses in branded shirts, hats and other clothing items have become social media talking points in skate and streetwear industry circles. “Normally you wouldn’t associate these girls with brands like LRG, The Hundreds, Diamond Supply Co. or Sk8Mafia,” he says. “It’s a mixture of skateboarding, streetwear and hot chicks. I get a kick out of it.”

Styles’ unique photo prints have already begun to garner popularity as porno fans have begun purchasing limited photo prints of their favorite adult actresses through Styles’ website, vanstyles.com. “The availability of free porn has definitely changed the industry,” says Styles. “Its basically made everything we do more disposable. Shooting the basic couch or bed porn over and over doesn't work anymore. It now requires a whole new level of creativity to make a product the consumer wants to go for. One piece of the formula remains the same though—beautiful women doing beautiful things you only wish your girlfriend would do."

Yesterday, having already whipped up a frothy controversy by telling Puerto Rico to speak English, Rick Santorum decided to go all-in with his public bitching by declaring war on pornography on his website. The porn industry isn't going to take this one lying down though: "It's ridiculous," Steven Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment, told the Daily News. "I find it ironic that [Republicans] are about less government until it comes to issues like pornography when they want more government. This will never work."

Santorum argued in the screed that pornography is "toxic to marriages and relationships," and contributes to "misogyn and violence against women" including prostitution and sex trafficking. Santorum vowed to appoint an Attorney General dedicated to vigorously enforcing federal “obscenity” laws. Joanna Angel, who has appeared in numerous adult videos and is the owner of XXX-film production company Burning Angel Entertainment, said porn stars were struggling with the economy as much as any industry, and Santorum is being "infuriating" by threatening to take away the few areas of distribution they have left.

"I wish people would stop seeing us as immoral monsters, and understand that we struggle with the same problems lots of other Americans struggle with right now," she added. And what exactly will Santorum define as "hardcore?" Is anything with nudity obscene? And what about porn movies that skirt the line between porn and art? Would Santorum really deny the world films like Last Tango In Paris, or This Ain't The Smurfs?

Ryan Keely, another adult film actress and sex advice columnist, got to the heart of Santorum's culture war, saying Santorum "is clearly an attempt to excite his conservative base." The Playboy Club at The Palms in Las Vegas will close in June, a spokesperson for The Palms announced on Thursday.

“After a strong six-year run, the Palms Casino Resort and Playboy Enterprises will end their partnership in early June and each pursue new brand opportunities in Las Vegas nightlife," PR Director Larry Fink said in a statement. "The Palms and Playboy Enterprises have shared a great relationship and wish each other future success.”

No word yet on what will take the place of the Playboy Club at The Palms, or whether Playboy Enterprises plans to open a new establishment elsewhere in Las Vegas.

The Daily Caller flags a little-discussed position paper on Rick Santorum’s campaign website—his pledge to aggressively prosecute those who produce and distribute pornography. Santorum avers that “America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography.” He pledges to use the resources of the Department of Justice to fight that “pandemic,” by bringing obscenity prosecutions against pornographers.

I would note that this is very different from what the Bush Administration did. The Bush DOJ did establish an Obscenity Prosecution Task Force in 2005, but this body focused on bringing prosecutions against small-time producers who made porn with extreme content. (Even so, it faced significant pushback from U.S. Attorneys, some of whom viewed such prosecutions as a distraction and a misuse of resources.) Many social conservative groups were disappointed with the task force, contending that more mainstream hardcore porn violates obscenity laws, and they urged the Bush Administration to bring obscenity cases against major producers.

Santorum promises that he would do exactly this. His statement references going after pornography that is distributed not just on the Internet, but also “on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV.” Perhaps I am not staying in the most interesting hotels, but my impression is that porn distributed through such channels is almost definitionally not extreme. Santorum’s statement also touts his work on this issue with “groups including Morality in Media, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, American Family Association”—many of which were among the groups calling on the Bush Administration to prosecute mainstream porn producers in 2007. And he says he “proudly support[s] the efforts of the War on Illegal Pornography Coalition,” which advocates the use of obscenity laws against mainstream porn.

Some of Santorum’s defenders have taken the tack of separating his personal views from his policy views. Santorum thinks contraception is “not OK” and he has announced his intention to use the bully pulpit to discuss “the dangers of contraception.” But he doesn’t think contraception should be illegal, and he voted for Title X contraception subsidies (though he said in a recent debate that he opposes Title X, despite voting for it.) On pornography, though, Santorum’s views can’t be written off as purely personal—he has stated a clear intent to use the levers of government to stop adults from making and watching porn.

Emperors Gentleman’s Club and Steakhouse in Riviera Beach recently posted a sign declaring they’re 'now hiring the class of 2012', according to a picture posted to the social news website Reddit.

When reached on the phone, an employee at the strip club told Broward New Times that the sign was 'more or less a joke,' though the club is in fact seeking applications.

But hiring high school students hasn't always been a joke at parent company South East Showclubs.

Their Emperors Club location in Tampa was sued by a woman after her 16-year-old daughter was hired as a nude dancer, and even featured in Night Moves magazine after using a fake ID to get a job.

The teen was also reportedly featured in advertisements for the strip club and videotaped at work.

In recent years, pornography has moved with terrifying speed from a niche pursuit to one that is ubiquitous and hugely profitable. For a teenage boy only a decade ago, porn was just a mucky magazine, bought only after weeks of steeling himself to saunter nonchalantly into a newsagent’s and grab it from the top shelf.

Today, more than a quarter of internet users have visited a pornographic website. And that doesn’t begin to take into account the vast amount distilled through chatrooms, message boards and shared images.

Internet porn is frequently violent and aggressive. Practices that only a few years ago would have been regarded as abnormal are now mainstream. Male desires that previously would have remained dark fantasies, or have been kept in check, have now become both popularised and legitimised.

he consequences of this are only just beginning to be understood. But it cannot be a coincidence that sexual violence against women in Britain is on the increase. A recent survey of 1,600 women on Mumsnet revealed that an astonishing one in ten women say they have been raped, and more than a third subjected to sexual assault.

I’ve written before in support of Tory MP Claire Perry’s proposal to make internet porn accessible only to those over 18 who actively opt to see it. Despite paying lip service to this idea, which is not only sensible, but vital, neither David Cameron nor Culture Minister Ed Vaizey have taken the necessary steps to make it happen.

As Raquel Welch says: ‘I don’t care if I’m becoming one of those old fogeys who says: “Back in my day we didn’t have to hear about sex all the time.” Nobody remembers what it’s like to be left to form your own ideas about what’s erotic and sexual.’

Sex used to be the most powerful gift a woman could bestow. And the pursuit of this prize encouraged men to regard it not as some bestial form of domination (which is how it’s frequently portrayed on the internet) but as a demonstration of love and respect.

Yet for modern teenagers — and for God knows how many older men — I fear sex has been reduced to an entirely loveless experience that is predicated on the humiliation and subjugation of women.

Forty-six years ago, ‘porn’ for most teenage boys amounted to little more than a poster of Raquel in her cavewoman bikini on their bedroom wall. I suspect today’s teens would barely register that poster as even mildly erotic. And that’s a tragedy not just for them, but for us all.

Plastic surgery procedures and pornstars have walked hand in hand for years. Breast implants have become "tools of the trade" for many adult stars (and frankly often, when well done, look fabulous in my opinion) - where as supplemental procedures such as lip injections, botox injections, skin peels, nose reductions, chin implants, dental veneers, butt injections, etc. are usually procedures pornstars indulge in a bit later in their careers (typically around the age of 35).

However ironically, it seems that in the adult market of today - LESS is MORE when it comes to how well a pornstar is received by the public. Nowadays the public is flocking towards pornstars who are NATURALLY beautiful.

For example - arguably the most popular and successful pornstar of today - Jenna Haze - has not had ANY plastic surgery. Neither have many of the up and coming stars such as Skin Diamond or Imani Rose. Even pornstar turned mainstream personality Bree Olson (the Charlie Sheen "Goddess" who ironically was cast as a "man made" character in the adult parody of the Bionic Woman) has retained her all natural body.

Speaking of Bree Olson in a March of 2010 interview with Alex Zander which was reposted on AdultFYI.com - Bree brings up a frightening revelation in regards to Kayden Kross (a convicted felon and Free Speech Coalition member who is against the use of condoms in porn to prevent STDs - she claims it "hurts" to use condoms).

According to Bree Olson, Kayden Kross (currently only 26 years old) has undergone FIFTEEN ( 15 ) cosmetic surgery procedures!

In my opinion any young woman having any more than 3 cosmetic surgery procedures before the age of 30 is quite telling in regards to the individual's level of self esteem, body image and overall concept of self worth (in fact this may be an indicator of body dysmorphic disorder along with other psychological issues of which psychiatric assistance should probably be sought).

Being the skeptical individual I am, upon reading Bree Olson's claim in regard to Kayden Kross, I immediately decided to compare early Kayden Kross (aka Jenna Nikole - her early porn industry alias) photos with her present day look. Astoundingly Bree Olson's claim is far from fictitious.

Kayden Kross has repeatedly stated in regards to her thoughts on the newly established Los Angeles porn industry condom mandates that her choice not to use a condom should be "her right" and that it's "her body" - but truthfully - considering that Kayden Kross is willing to submit her body to not just one but multiple invasive elective surgeries which COULD be fatal (yes people often do DIE from cosmetic surgery procedures) should she REALLY be someone that any sane individual with even a median concept of self worth and self esteem should listen to? I don't think so...Kayden's mentality is far from what's deemed as "stable" by the majority of accredited psychological schools of thought.

I personally am not against cosmetic surgery in regards to subtle maintenance, but when you're attempting to transform yourself into a completely different person (especially at such a young age), I think that there's some major underlying dysfunction and issues that need to be addressed. Initially when I met Joanne Cachapero, it was the day of which I contributed my thoughts at the time to a "documentary" about Anti-Porn Activist Shelley Lubben (by a man associated with the Free Speech Coalition - Michael Whiteacre, who Joanne is allegedly romantically involved with), which in actuality is a HATE FILM and a form of harassment and stalking. I was coerced and coached by Michael Whiteacre and expornstar Julie Meadows throughout the interview process and was told various lies about the activity of The Pink Cross (Shelley Lubben's organization).

The Free Speech Coalition this week ended its silence on the topic of adult video actors who leave the business and want to become teachers after Loftis was permitted to return to the classroom.

A Florida schools commission reinstated his credentials following his educational condemnation. Joanne Cachapero, communications director of the Coalition, told the Weekly:

"This is a significant victory for Shawn and for other adult performers. There are many performers that are educated and have clean records - then, when they decide they would like to move on to another career, they find the only strike against them is that they have a history as an adult performer. That's a stigma that society places on them. Working in the adult industry is not a crime - it does not indicate you are immoral or a potential pedophile. Sadly, adult performers are often judged without consideration, when - here in LA - we have seen teachers that went through full background checks, now accused as alleged sex offenders.

"Shawn feels that his experiences traveling the world while he was in the industry will make him a better teacher, and I have no doubt that is true. And the school officials in Orlando should be praised for their progressive approach toward Shawn's reinstatement."

Loftis was fired after district administrators in Miami found out he had a gay porn past. State officials, however, said his experience could provide a teaching moment. Really. They green lit his return to the classroom last week.

Halas, meanwhile, was taken off duty March 2 after a couple teachers reportedly discovered her work. Students already told administrators that they believed she had worked as a porn star, but the school officials, possibly stymied by the Oxnard district's porn filters, couldn't find the smoking gun.

Well, The Smoking Gun website reported last week that Halas, who's 31, worked in porn briefly six years ago, doing several shoots for a San Diego-based producer named Peter Romero, who told the site she was "one of my favorite models."

Halas' case, by the way, is still up in the air.

PayPal Lifts Ban on Erotic Books

PayPal on Tuesday retracted its threat to close the accounts of online booksellers who sell works that could be considered obscene.

In mid-February, PayPal delivered an ultimatum to online booksellers and distributors, including Smashwords, BookStrand.com and eXcessica, giving them just days to remove all erotic books describing rape, incest and bestiality. More than 1,000 e-books were removed from the Smashwords website before PayPal agreed to postpone a final decision on cutting off payments.

“This decision recognizes the important principle that neither PayPal nor any other company involved in payment processing has any business telling people what they should read,” said Joan Bertin, executive director of the National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC).

NCAC joined the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) in writing a protest letter to eBay, the owner of PayPal.

“It is an important victory for free speech on the Internet,” ABFFE President Chris Finan said.

In a statement posted on its website today, PayPal announced that in the future it will not reject e-books that consist only of text unless they “contain child pornography, or ... text and obscene images of rape, bestiality or incest (as defined by the U.S. legal standard for obscenity…)."

PatPal committed to limit its objections to particular books rather than rejecting “entire classes." It also said that it is developing a process that will allow an author to challenge a PayPal notice that a book violates its policy.

The PayPal statement does not fully resolve all issues, however. It is not clear whether legal material would be affected by PayPal’s policy regarding “e-books that contain child pornography, some of which may be legal.”

Porn producers considering a move to Arizona to beat the new Los Angeles mandatory condom law could be facing a prostitution rap.

Arizona, among other areas including Las Vegas, have been targeted as likely new homes for the adult business that’s having the door slammed in its face by its long-time home in L.A.

Even neighboring areas outside of the San Fernando Valley porn hub, including Simi Valley and Moorpark have made it clear that they don’t want porn shot in their neighborhoods.

Los Angeles is one of only two places (the other being New Hampshire) where porn is legal to shoot.

But according to a CBS news report, Arizona Maricopa County attorney Bill Montgomery said any move by California’s porn industry to his area might be a violation of the state's law against prostitution.

"Under Arizona law, anyone paid to appear in a pornographic movie may be guilty of the crime of prostitution, which carries mandatory jail time as well as the possibility of other penalties," Montgomery said.

Arizona law defines prostitution as "engaging in or agreeing or offering to engage in sexual conduct under a fee arrangement with any person for money or any other valuable consideration," according to the report.

Montgomery made it clear the welcome mat is not out for porn in the Grand Canyon State.

The lawyer said in an official statement, "Furthermore, anyone involved in other aspects of producing pornographic movies, including soliciting individuals to appear, collecting a fee from the monies received by individuals solicited to appear by virtue of an agent relationship, transporting individuals from California to Arizona for the purpose of appearing in a pornographic movie, and/or establishing a venue for the filming and/or production of pornographic movies may be guilty of committing one or several felonies in the state of Arizona."

The state law reportedly says that a "prostitution enterprise" is defined as any corporation, partnership, association or other legal entity or any group of individuals associated in fact although not a legal entity engaged in providing prostitution services.

Montgomery said the state law would prevent the establishment of a "pornography industry" to any degree.

Police said a tip led them to backpage.com, then to Sheffield Lake home of Olivia Moore.

"She was advertising to 'come play with a playboy bunny.' She gave her physical description as 5'4", 100 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes and tan skin," explained Sheffield Lake Detective Shawn Coor.

A quick Internet search showed Moore is an adult film star known as Nichole Heiress. But authorities said her online ad said she was a 24-year-old named Paige.

"Through several e-mails with an undercover officer, she did solicit sexual favors for the amount of $300," said Coor.

An officer went to "Paige's" home and gave her the money that was agreed upon. Then, she was arrested.

Renee Jones, CEO of the Renee Jones Empowerment Center, along with other groups and law enforcement, all have had their eye on backpage.com. Like craigslist, you can buy and sell almost anything on the site. But backpage also has an "adult" section.

"You can take one look and tell what that's all about," Jones said. She helps rescue human trafficking victims and said not all posters advertising sex are willing adults.

"Unfortunately, a lot of traffic victims that we've had the occasion to work with have been advertised on such sites as backpage.com," explained Jones.

Sheffield Lake police said they'll be paying attention to all of it.

"This is a small community and people value the small community we do have. We just don't want that type of activity here," said Coor.

"Paige" never returned our request for a comment.

The subject of condoms in porn can elicit giggles. People are embarrassed to admit they consume porn and by and large don’t want to think about the consequences to the performers who they are watching. However, safety in porn is an important issue.

The knee jerk reaction of some is that consenting adults should be able to have unprotected sex if they want to and that we are seeking to control people’s behavior. This is wrong on several counts. First, if people want to record themselves having condomless sex and show it to the world that is their right. However, when the people get paid to do it then they are employees and entitled to the same workplace protection that all other workers receive. Second, these performers if they demand that condoms be used will not get work and are therefore being coerced into compromising their own health.

Thousands of performers have been infected with thousands of STDs over the last few years according to the Los Angeles County Public Health Department. That is not a small issue. Porn is the only industry in California where employees are forced to expose themselves to dangerous diseases in order to work. These performers are not disposable.

As important, is the effect that the films themselves have on public health. The fact that most straight porn is made without condoms sends a horrible message that the only kind of sex that is hot is unsafe. Some object that talking about the “educational” aspect of porn is a form of censorship. They make the analogy to Hollywood films that portray violence and say that it is wrong to try to control the content of art — agreed. However, in Hollywood the violence is simulated. In porn, real actors are having actual unsafe sex with other actors and actually infecting them with HIV and other STDs, and the audience knows it.

The reason why the U.S. has higher rates of all STDs and unwanted pregnancy than other rich countries is that we are hedonistic in our behavior and moralistic in our attitudes — which is a lethal combination. In other words, we keep telling people not to have sex but we are obsessed with it and use sex to sell everything.

Porn is a legal industry in two states — California and New Hampshire. (It is illegal prostitution in the other forty-eight states). We are not opposed to pornography. We simply want it to be safer. State law in California prohibits the making of adult films without condoms under the blood-borne pathogen standards that were developed for health care settings. The California Occupational Health and Safety Administration (CalOSHA) is developing new regulations specific to porn. Porn producers have openly flouted the law knowing that CalOSHA has limited ability to police them. That’s why we need a team effort between the city, county and the state to bring about safer working conditions in this industry.

Almost 71,000 citizens of Los Angeles signed petitions to place an initiative on the city ballot. As a result, the City Council adopted the law. Now more than 120,000 Angelenos have signed a county petition. Getting the signatures has not been difficult. People of all ages, races, men and women, Republicans and Democrats understand that this is a simple issue of worker protection and fairness.

The porn producers will squeal that they will move out of town. Who wants them? They will say that the audience doesn’t want to see condoms. Well, the vast majority of gay porn over the last 25 years has used condoms and that industry thrives. We will continue to fight as long as it takes to make this industry safer in the same way that we fought against treating gay men, drug users, or Africans as expendable. AIDS activism has eventually succeeded in everything that it puts its mind to over three decades. This will be no different.

The porn performers are real people. They are the sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, aunts, uncles and cousins of people who live in our community. They deserve better as does the public health at large.

The 70-second spot marks Equal Pay Day set for March 20 in Belgium.

Director Bryce Wagoner interviewed more than 20 adult stars for the film, including industry legends like Randy West, Asia Carrera, and Amber Lynn. What he discovered was that porn is a fantasy world of quick money whose real price only becomes apparent when you try to return to normality.

"We found the men stayed in the business as long as they could and were mostly OK with it," says Wagoner, an amiable Southerner and former teenage bodybuilding champion. "The women who only did it for four to five years were the most jaded and had the toughest lives afterward. Every woman we spoke to—apart from Amber Lynn, who's still going strong—had to reboot their lives at 30 and start over in some small town." Such efforts were made all the more difficult by poverty. "For one reason or another," says Wagoner, "they didn't save any money, or if they did save some money, they'd lost it through some guy."

Wagoner was inspired to make the documentary by the story of Bianca Trump, a bouncy, fresh-faced porn star of the 1990s whose filmography includes features like What Daddy Doesn't Know, Big Boob Frenzy 4, and Nasty Nymphos 22.

Despite her success, Trump later fell in with white supremacists, covered herself in tattoos, and served time for kidnapping. After that chaos in her life ended, Wagoner found her settled quietly in Washington state.

"Prison changed her for the better, I think," he says. "But she declined to appear on film. She said, 'Nobody recognizes me anymore and I'm OK with that.'"

Such is the case with many former porn stars, but trying to live in anonymity isn't easy.

"We found many stories where people tried to move on only for their neighbors to find out that they once made a bunch of dirty movies," says Wagoner.

"One guy couldn't coach his son's Little League team anymore. One woman lost her real-estate job and then got diagnosed with lymphoma the following month.

John Leslie [Leslie has since past away] lives up in Mill Valley, near San Francisco, which is a really nice area. He's an artist, a chef, a very cultured guy. His wife is a therapist. A serious professional. But some neighbors found out about his past and they wouldn't let him babysit."

Jenna Jameson's case is different because she wasn't seeking total anonymity in her post-porn life. But her chances of finding domestic stability were probably below average given her struggles with many of the personal issues that are so common in the industry. She lost her mother to cancer when she was 2, and was raped by four men in her early teens.

She had tremendous rage at her police officer father, who was an archetypal distant authority figure. (They have since reconciled.) In her 2004 memoir, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, she talks about her battle with heroin addiction and her crippling body-image issues.

"I have very bad insecurity about my body," she wrote in her diary, at age 15. "I feel there is something wrong with it. I hate being seen naked."

Wagoner, though, dismisses notions that only damaged people enter the porn industry.

"A lot of these people are smart, educated, well-adjusted. They get into it simply because they can make more money, and faster than if they were training to be a nurse. But it's a Faustian pact. If you enter the business with something deeply unresolved in your psyche, it's not going to cure it. It's like [porn historian] Luke Ford says in the film: 'You want the roll in the hay, but then afterward you want to burn the sheets.'"

PayPal, which curtailed online adult transactions years ago, is asking some ebook distributors to ban books that contain "obscene" themes including rape, bestiality or incest.

PayPal has sent warnings to online publishers and booksellers, including SmashWords, BookStrand and eXcessica, that it would "limit" the company's PayPal account partly because banks and credit card companies it works with restrict such content.

"Our banking partners and credit card associations have taken a very strict stance on this subject matter," PayPal said. "Our relationships with the banking partners are absolutely critical in order to provide the online and mobile services we [offer] ... to our customers. Therefore, we have to remain in compliance with their rules, which prohibit content involving rape, bestiality or incest."

PayPal's move has many concerned that banks and credit card companies may be exerting too much control over what books can be written, published and read. Many in the adult entertainment community have had that concern for years.

"We've had deep concerns about financial payment providers choosing what sorts of transactions they process," said Rainey Reitman, a director at the digital rights nonprofit Electronic Frontier Foundation. "Speech on the Internet relies on companies that are supposed to act neutrally. When certain chains in this link suddenly decide to become arbiters of what people read, that's a problem."

EFF and a coalition of civil liberties organizations and publishers are now calling on PayPal to reverse the policy.

The coalition, besides the EFF, includes the groups Access, ACLU of California, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, Association of American Publishers, Authors Guild, BannedWriters.com, Bytes for All Pakistan, Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Coming Together, Feminists for Free Expression, Fight for the Future, Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association, Index on Censorship, Internet Archive, National Coalition Against Censorship, Northern California Independent Booksellers Association, Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, Peacefire, PEN American Center, Southern California Independent Booksellers Association, Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance and Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance.

The coalition signed off in a letter to PayPal that "the Internet has become an international public commons, like an enormous town square, where ideas can be freely aired, exchanged and criticized."

"That will change if private companies, which are under no legal obligation to respect free speech rights, are able to use their economic clout to dictate what people should read, write and think," the coalition said. "PayPal, and the myriad other payment processors that support essential links in the free speech chain between authors and audiences, should not operate as morality police."

Tila Tequila has agreed to enter rehab for substance abuse in addition to seeking treatment for psychological issues -- Tila's close friend and manager tells TMZ.

According to her manager, Tila agreed to treatment after several of Tila's friends staged a miniature intervention -- following Tila's suicide scare last week.

We're told Tila has been struggling with serious substance abuse problems as well as psychiatric issues recently -- the suicide scare was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

It's unclear when Tila plans to enter a treatment center -- but we're told her friends are hoping she'll get help as soon as this week.

We're told a rehab facility has already agreed to take her -- though sources wouldn't specify which.

So, Lenny Dykstra's Finally Going To Prison...

In what appears to be the culmination of what essentially has been a 20-year crime spree for former New York Mets outfielder Lenny Dykstra, "Nails" was sentenced this afternoon to prison time after pleading no contest to one count of grand theft auto -- and he still has charges that he whipped it out in front of a woman he met on Craigslist to look forward to.

Dykstra, who played center field for the Mets from 1985 to 1989, was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ulfig to three years in prison for his role in a scam to lease high-end cars from dealerships using the credit of a phony business.

According to various media reports, after leasing the vehicles, Dykstra and his two co-defendants -- his accountant, Robert Hymers, who pleaded no contest to one count of
identity theft, and Christopher Gavanis, who pleaded no contest to one
count of filing a false financial statement -- planned to sell them and pocket the cash.

Additionally, when Dykstra was arrested, police found cocaine, ecstasy, and human growth hormones at his Los Angeles home.

Dykstra initially pleaded not guilty to 25 crimes related to the cars, cocaine, and other drugs. However, in October, he changed his plea to no contest in exchange for prosecutors dropping 21 of the 25 counts.

Dykstra attempted to withdraw his no contest plea earlier this year, but to no avail -- according to the Associated Press, the judge told him his car-theft scheme involved "sophistication and extensive planning."

As we mentioned, Dykstra is no stranger to the wrong side of the law; in addition to being named in the Mitchell Report for his use of performance enhancing drugs, Dykstra's been accused of several legal indiscretions dating back to 1991 -- which we'll list chronologically below (compliments of Baseball Unrated's "Hall of Shame").

-May 7, 1991: Dykstra got hammered and wrapped his Mercedes Benz around a tree in Pennsylvania after attending a bachelor party for his Philadelphia Phillies teammate Jon Kruk. At the time of the wreck, Dykstra's BAC was .179.

-1999: Dykstra was arrested on charges that he sexually harassed a 17-year-old girl. The charges ultimately were dropped, but were the first of what would eventually be four accusations of sexual misconduct involving Dykstra.

-In March 2009, it was alleged that Dykstra's businesses were facing financial ruin and that he had used offensive terms when speaking about Blacks, women, and homosexuals.

-In September 2009, Lenny Dykstra was banned from both of his foreclosed multi-million dollar properties in Lake Sherwood. Security officers have been instructed to deny access to Dykstra. He was accused of vandalizing the properties and not maintaining home owners insurance on the properties. A trustee was assigned by the courts to manage the properties.

-In December 2010, Lenny Dykstra was accused of hiring a female escort, then writing the escort a bad $1,000 check. Adult film star and escort Monica Foster claimed that Lenny Dykstra purchased her escort service on December 13, 2010 then wrote her a check that bounced. Monica Foster later posted a copy of the bounced check on her blog.

-In January 2011, Lenny Dykstra was accused of sexual assault by his housekeeper. A female housekeeper alleged Dykstra would force her to give him oral sex on Saturdays. The woman told investigators she "needed the job and the money so she went along with the suspect's requests rather than lose her job," according to the filing, and "returned to work in the suspect's home with knowledge that she obtained from the Internet of a claim of sexual assault by another woman."

-On April 14, 2011, Dykstra was arrested and charged with bankruptcy fraud. Also The Los Angeles Police Department Commercial Crimes Division arrested Dykstra in Encino at 8 p.m. Thursday on separate grand theft charges related to the purchase of vehicles. He was arrested by the Forgery Section of the LAPD Commercial Crimes Division. The LAPD made the arrest following an investigation. He was held on $500,000 bail.

Dykstra is scheduled to stand trial for the bankruptcy fraud charges this summer.

Digital Playground Porn Site Hacked; Over 72,000 customers’ details and over 44,000 credit card numbers Compromised

"They did not dump the 44,663 credit card numbers that they claim to have acquired, but note that card numbers, card expiration date, cvv and all customer billing address and contact info were in plain text,"DataBreaches.net reports.

"They provided two redacted versions of named customers as proof of that," the article states.

We did not set out to destroy them but they made it too enticing to resist. So now our humble crew leave lulz and mayhem in our path.
We not only have the 72k users of this site but also over 40k plaintext credit cards including ccvs, names and expiry dates.

there was no shortage of .mil and .gov emails in their user list.

We also went on and rooted four of their servers, as well as gaining access to their mail boxes. Using credentials from emails
we tapped into their conference call. “Is anyone besides David on the line ?” – We were. Did we win? Sure looks that way.

Digital Playground game over.

Thankfully for the 72,794 users whose usernames, e-mail addresses and plaintext passwords were reportedly acquired, the hackers did not dump all of the data they claim to have acquired, but if they are possession of the data, that alone is cause for concern. They posted a smattering of the personally identifiable information they acquired:

* 27 admins’ names, usernames, e-mail addresses, and encrypted passwords
* 28 admins’ names, usernames, e-mail addresses, and encrypted passwords (some overlap with previous table)
* 85 affiliates’ usernames, plaintext passwords, and in some cases, IP addresses
* 100 users’ e-mail addresses, usernames (same as e-mail addresses) and plaintext passwords, and
* 82 .gov and .mil e-mail addresses with corresponding plaintext passwords

They did not dump the 44,663 credit card numbers that they claim to have acquired, but note that card numbers, card expiration date, cvv and all customer billing address and contact info were in plain text. They provided two redacted versions of named customers as proof of that.

Clearly, if their claims are true (and I have no reason to disbelieve based on what they posted), this is bad. Really bad. So much personal information stored in clear text? Seriously? From Digital Playground’s Privacy Policy:

Apparently their dedication doesn’t extend to encrypting customer data or PCI DSS compliance.

Rush Limbaugh Logic: Porn Good, Birth Control Bad

A few weeks ago, Congresswoman Maloney looked at the all male congressional panel on birth control and asked, "where are the women?" I want to ask Rush Limbaugh and those who applauded his tirade against Sandra Fluke: "where are the men?"

According to Rush,

"What does it say about the college co-ed [Sandra] Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps... "
If we follow Rush's "logic" women who are using birth control are whores, and the government that subsidizes the cost of birth control, is a pimp, what about the men who have sex with us? What are they, Rush? Why are they exempted from the slurs, name-calling and moral judgment?

I am also confused by the next part of Rush's rant in which he says "if we are going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch."

So, it is moral and fine and good to watch sex tapes, but moral depravity to determine when you want to start a family? Got it. Of course, there is also no moral calibration or insults directed at the men -- in Rush's age group -- whose Viagra is subsidized by our health insurance premiums.

I doubt that Rush's opinion on women and birth control resonates with the majority of Americans. Most of us living n the 21st century do not consider women who practice birth control to be prostitutes or sluts. And, certainly, this entire discussion regarding health insurance coverage for birth control has not been a political boon for the GOP. If anything, Republicans appear to be more at the fringe, and more the party of old white men.

But here is what does concern me. While most folks reject Rush's inane attack, the denigration of women's sexuality -- and not men's -- is commonplace.

It is striking to me how easy it is to be called a whore. How frequently that term gets hurled at women and girls, regardless of who we are -- a Georgetown law student, a nicely dressed professional ignoring a stranger's cat call, a victim of rape, or a young homeless girl forced into the sex trade.

Perhaps, at some point, that is the conversation we can have -- what it means to honor women's sexuality and personhood. Right now, that kind of discourse feels surprisingly far away.

I have thought long and hard about this condom mandate, and I have talked with a lot of girls in porn about it. oddly enough on the record most porn girls oppose it, funny thing is OFF the record most of them support it.

It appears many of the girls working in porn would actually prefer to use condoms but are afraid that even supporting condom use would cost them work in an industry where work is drying up quickly.

As one contract girl put it. "Look at the guys I am expected to fuck, they are shooting up steroids, doing gay porn, doing trannys, doing gay escorting, do you really think I wouldn't prefer to use a condom if I could?"

Another performer notes: "We are all the time having to be treated for Chlamydia, I would rather not have to worry about it. I mean that can't be good."

Even some of the guys are concerned, particularly with girls that are escorting, as one veteran performer put it. "If you can't get it up while wearing a condom, and without using Viagra, you shouldn't be in porn anyway."

And the real truth is that the STD rate among performers really is sky high. Way above that of the general population, regardless of what the industry propagandists will tell you.

Despite industry rhetoric nobody is going to move out of Los Angeles, the truth is most of the companies figure this is just window dressing and it will be rarely, if ever enforced. or they can shoot underground and not really worry about it.

But I have discovered a real gotcha for companies that think this won't be a big deal. It's called torts. And it could absolutely bring this industry to it's knees. I believe that is what AHF is setting up the biz for. You see in the past if a girl (or a guy) caught an STD on a porn set they might have been able to sue in civil court for damages but it probably wasn't worth trying. The new condom law is going to change that. NOW it becomes a clear case of negligence if an STD is transmitted on a set that isn't using condoms. What's going to happen when an enterprising attorney hooks up with an industry full of performers that discover they can get 10 to 20 K every time they get an STD on a set that didn't mandate condoms?

Maybe AHF supplies these attorneys for free and fattens its bank accounts with one third of the judgements. I can assure you that they have NOT overlooked this possibility.

I have a strong feeling that this condom mandate is going to prove to be a game changer, in an industry that is changing rapidly by the day. Be careful, be very careful, I would consult a attorney before foregoing condoms if I were you.

L.A. Porn-Condom Law Takes Effect Today!

The city ordinance requiring condom use in porn films goes into effect tomorrow.

Although the new law becomes official Monday, the city is still carving out details on its implementation.

Officials from LAPD, Cal/OSHA and the city attorney’s office are continuing making recommendations on how to implement the new ordinance.

The Los Angeles City Council in January approved, 9-1, the ordinance requiring that all adult film actors wear condoms when filming within city limits.

The ordinance allows spot checks on any set once a film permit is issued. Permits cost $85.

Anticipating that city voters would endorse a condom requirement in a ballot initiative, council moved to approve a ballot initiative by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and avoiding a $4 million special election.

The AHF is now collecting signatures for a countywide initiative.

AHF has collected over 120,000 signatures — more than half the 232,153 needed by June 5 to qualify a similar countywide measure for the November election.

Washington - Porn mogul Larry Flynt in a full page newspaper ad on Sunday offered $1 million for information about the sexual indiscretions of well-known US politicians or government officials.

Flynt's offer, appearing in the Washington Post newspaper, asked readers to phone their tips to his hotline, or to send an e-mail to a dedicated online address at his Hustler porn magazine.

"Do you have information about infidelity, sexual impropriety or corruption concerning a current United States senator, congressperson or prominent government official?" the ad asks in large, bold type.

"Can you provide documented evidence of your claims? Larry Flynt and Hustler Magazine will pay you up to $1 million if we choose to used your material and publish your verified story," the ad said, adding that all correspondence would be kept "strictly confidential."

It is just the latest of the famous porn publisher's sporadic forays into the realm of politics.

Last year he offered disgraced US lawmaker Anthony Weiner a job, after the New York congressman resigned over a tawdry "sexting" scandal.

He also offered a $1 million reward last year for anyone who could produce proof of illicit sexual liaisons by then-presidential contender Rick Perry.

Flynt has fought several prominent legal battles involving the First Amendment - the right to free speech guaranteed in the US Constitution - and has unsuccessfully run for public office.

He won a seminal free speech case in 1988 before the US Supreme Court.

Stabile writes on www.salon.com - My journey into porn began 10 years ago, on my way to a screenwriting career. It was a great time to get into the industry. I stumbled into it because my would-be writing partner was working at a mainstream media company that padded its bottom line with sales of hardcore DVDs.

By 2002, even in the midst of a recession, that padding was getting pretty thick. The studios noticed the sales that the Internet generated. They needed someone who could string together a press release, or a script, or a marketing campaign that would work in this new world. It was good money, and plenty of porn. For two gay guys – hell, for two any guys – the next five years were a string of Christmas mornings.

And not just for lucky idiots like us. Everyone was making money. Internet startups had started to figure out streaming video, and you could still sell DVDs all day long. Hundreds of new companies sprouted, like mushrooms after a rainstorm. We were lucky enough to be there for the harvest. We didn’t realize it then, but it was the beginning of porn’s golden age – and it wasn’t going to last.

It was an incredibly creative time for the industry. For all the boondoggles – a gay porn site curated by Jenna Jameson that never quite took off, a porn version of “The Color Purple” that was shelved – it was an exciting place to be.

Studios invested in high-quality cameras, shot on location in Greece and Hawaii and Paris. There were massive webmaster parties in Berlin. Chartered yachts off the coast of Mexico. For two weeks one summer, my writing partner, Jack, and I got paid to live at a bathhouse while we worked on a gay porn soap opera. TMZ showed up at awards ceremonies. Even when it wasn’t glamorous, it was exciting.

Somewhere in 2006, we began to run out of licks. Only a year after Digital Playground produced “Pirates,” a porn movie with a $1 million budget, online video began attracting actual pirates, and they didn’t wear custom-made bras or sell for $69.95. Suddenly, those stacks of DVDs consumers had been collecting began to look like the recycling bin after a drinking binge. The party was ending. And then the economy tanked.

In 2008, when Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and the Dow plunged like a unbuckled belt, I was in a 14th century château outside of Bordeaux, the guest of a studio head with a fondness for firm tannins. The château had been built in a construction boom during the Hundred Years’ War. The family that owned it had long since lost their empire. We were about to lose ours.

Compared to 2004, today’s porn “lifestyle” is more like a basket of yellow lollipops, an industry dominated by low-cost sites like MILFs Like It Big, parody titles like “Beverly Hillbillies XXX” and debates over regulation that threaten to move the industry into empty strip malls in dry gulch towns outside the Los Angeles County limits. But when Jenna Jameson turned “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star,” into a bestseller, the dream was still incredibly sweet.

There’s a false truism that porn is recession-proof. It’s one you used to hear a lot in the industry, mostly from people who hadn’t been in the business long enough to see an actual recession. But for the industry to survive in a down market, it has had to reinvent itself – even if it means surrendering some of its legendary flair. Porn’s new power players are less likely the charismatic studio heads, but the heads of large corporate conglomerates.

“In many ways it had to happen,” a former magazine publisher told me at the recent Xbiz Awards in LA. “Between you and me, there were a lot of idiots in this business. It had to shake out. The cream rises.”

While individual studios still remain, many have partnered with much larger, sometimes dubious partners to help weather the storm. In 2007, Penthouse acquired Adult Friend Finder, a massive dating site, for $500 million. Last October, Playboy ceded its online operations to Manwin, a massive conglomerate that runs free tube sites many blame for hobbling the industry.

“Companies who have consolidated have a definite advantage,” says Raging Stallion founder Chris Ward, the studio head who, a year after our trip to the French countryside, merged his company with Charlotte-based VOD giant AEBN. Now president of both Raging Stallion and the venerable Falcon Studios, he heads the largest production company in the gay porn industry. AEBN in turn owns NakedSword, which distributes movies from Raging Stallion and Falcon online. “There are efficiencies in scale that smaller companies can’t match.”

Indeed. Rather than paying out profits to a distributor, consolidated companies use it to make more movies, for which they have a guaranteed outlet. Conglomerates have ballast to weather difficult times, and when other companies go out of business, they pick up their market share. And a company with multiple studios and diverse product lines is in a better position to make lucrative hotel and foreign television deals.

The same is true for webcams — one of the few thriving parts of an industry. As with studios, the webcam industry is a kingdom ruled by a few castles. The largest, Adult Webmaster Empire, lives up to its name, boasting over 900,000 models in countries from India and Colombia to Russia and Hungary.

Unlike traditional porn, live webcam shows haven’t been hurt by piracy. The live shows’ appeal rests as much on interaction between the performer and the audience as it does the video feed. A pirated live show is as exciting as a pinned butterfly. It happens, just not often.

Webcams in the U.S. alone are a $2 billion a year enterprise, according to a source at a competing conglomerate. But the upfront costs of breaking into the market and massive outlays in equipment locks newcomers out. It’s a bit like the oil industry; even if you discover a rich vein on your property – in this case a star – you have to turn to the big boys to mine it properly.

But the small-time producer, a ubiquitous part of the industry during its boom years, is almost extinct. When I worked in the industry, stars of a certain caliber routinely left studio contracts to launch their own film lines. If each wasn’t as successful as Jameson’s Club Jenna, at least they made enough to survive.

With the loss of the independent producer went some of the fun. The porn industry during the boom years was an ever-changing collection of eccentrics, an endless family reunion with a little too much whiskey. When the industry receded, it became more like a probate hearing, with tipsy relatives bitterly divvying up a shrinking estate. Stars that used to make $1,500 a scene are now making half that. Producers who could shoot two movies a month now need to make six. Online scenes sell for a fraction of what a DVD sale once brought.

But some producers see the economic firestorm as a way to clear the deadwood from a industry gone soft on innovation. Pink Visual, a production company often cited as one of porn’s bright spots, reversed declines in 2009 thanks to a large investment in mobile, which is more difficult to pirate. It now accounts for 60 percent the company’s revenue.

I caught up with President Allison Vivas after a conference on the future of the industry. To survive in the long-term, Vivas says, companies have to challenge the old revenue model. So she’s not ruling anything out, even the prospect of giving away its movies for free, then selling advertising like television.

“A lot of mainstream companies won’t advertise on an adult site, even if it’s their perfect demographic,” Vivas says. She mentions razors, body sprays, condoms, and liquor. But just because they haven’t doesn’t mean they won’t. And Vivas, who has also experimented with new technologies like 3-D and augmented reality, intends to be there.

Last week, I stopped by the offices of Falcon Studios, a company formed in 1971, in the early years of porn’s first golden age. I left three years ago to produce a documentary on the birth of the industry, and I was back to dig through their archives to see what I could find. Yellowed bankers boxes guarded 16mm film canisters scribbled with names of long-defunct companies, Brentwood and Nova and Tel-Star. Stacks of magazines from the late ’70s with ads for photosets and 8mm home projectors.

What none of the magazines bothered to mention was that even back then, the industry was facing a monumental crisis. Unscrupulous theater owners were making illegal dupes of 16mm reels, rendering high-end production like “Behind the Green Door” and “Deep Throat” unprofitable. Stagflation had rendered the consumer limp. Local vice squads and FBI sting operations were driving small-time producers out of business. Some of porn’s most storied players, including the Mitchell Brothers, were abandoning film in favor of live shows. What we remember as halcyon days and “Boogie Nights” was, for many, a nightmare.

And the magazines bear no mention of the technology that would reinvent the industry, the VCR. Few saw it coming, but it minted a thousand new millionaires overnight. So I’m keeping an eye on my old friends. They may not know it, but the next golden age could be right around the corner.

The prevalence of internet pornography is turning more people into sex addicts, an Australian rehabilitation expert says.

"The amount of porn that is readily available to anyone, especially on the internet, will lead to a serious public health problem," said Robert Mittiga, who runs the GATS Counseling center in Adelaide, one of only two clinics in Australia that treat sex addiction.

Mittiga said he expected the number of diagnosed addicts to grow as more people learned about the condition.

"Research has shown that about 10 percent of any population are addicted to sex," he said.

Mittiga conservatively estimated up to one million Australians could have the problem.

He said the internet -- and young people's access to it -- exacerbated the problem. He likened its wide array of pornography to marijuana, which he said was a gateway to harder and harder drugs.

"Many sex addicts were exposed to pornography at a very young age, before their minds could properly process it. It could've been their father's magazines under the bed, but these days it is readily available on the internet," he said.

"Sex addicts on the internet often experience a rapid progression of their addiction as they trawl deeper and deeper into hard-core porn to get their fix."

He acknowledged there was a debate over whether it could really be classified as an addiction but said he treated it as an addiction because it met all the criteria.

"Sex addicts have the same mood alterations as people addicted to substances like drugs or alcohol," he said.

“Raven Alexis the porn actress is raising serious questions about her health,” reports Lieberman.

“Does she really have cancer or is something else going on?”

Alexis said this last September, 2011:

“It’s a numbering system and basically what I had was stage 4 metastatic liver cancer which means that it had started in the liver then metastasized or spread to other organs. At this point it’s in several of my organs as well as my lymph nodes and my brain.”

“For most end stage cancer patients there is no recovery,” it’s noted by Howard 100.

“But Raven claims after a series of remarkable holistic remedies that she's beaten it.”

The station also talks to Alexis’ former fiancé, Dirk Jr. who believes he was duped.

“After extensive investigation he [the fiance] says he never found any proof of MRIs being done or chemo being administered. He believes that Raven did not have end-stage cancer. He also says he saw this doctor’s note one night in the ERI," reports the station

“He [the doctor] was talking about it and asked her a question,” the fiancé comments.

“There were typed notes that said the patient claims to have cancer but we see no signs. So what he told her was it definitely was not in her liver nor her blood. Of course Raven’s like, great, it’s not there but I’m still having seizures and stuff from my brain. Now she did have seizures in front of me.”

According to Howard 100, Alexis is “vehemently” denying she lied about anything.

“I am recovering and I’m excited about that,” states Alexis.

“My friends are excited about that as well as everyone should be.”

Howard 100 did go on to note that Alexis wouldn’t share her medical records but she referred them to her attorney Jim Felton.

“She was referred by a mutual friend because she needed some business advice and some possible bankruptcy advice,” states Felton.

“I met her in person on two occasions – both times she was using a walker.”

Felton says while he’s not a doctor he’d find it hard to believe that Alexis was making all this up.

“She hasn’t profited from it and, in fact, has lost a lot of money from doing films or appearances.”

Asked if he doubted her medical condition, Felton goes on to say, “I don’t, primarily for two reasons. One, she looks the part of someone who is ill. And, two, I can’t for the life of me understand why someone would go through this process and fabricate something when she was at the top of her game.”

Felton says he’s satisfied, without being a doctor, that Alexis has been undergoing treatments for something that’s serious.

One of the great standoffs in modern history has pitted the multi-billion-dollar porn industry against L.A. City Hall.

The L.A. City Council recently passed a law that requires on-location adult video performers to use condoms, but there's still no fine print about how, exactly, that will be enforced. In the meantime, the porn industry is saying it will abandon its longtime home in "Porn Valley" if it is forced to use prophylactics.

Some porn leaders are even teasing the city: How are you really going to enforce this? Here's one way:

With QR codes.

That's right. Planned Parenthood in Seattle has recently been experimenting with condoms that have QR codes printed on them. They can be scanned and entered into a database that then maps where people are getting it on.

Seriously.

What we want to know is, who's in charge of placing scanners in orifices. And how. And what happens to those poor guys who can't fill in the, ah, data?

Oh. The codes are scanned in via smart phone apps prior to sex. Much better.

According to a Planned Parenthood statement:

The check-ins show up on a map on the website that is searchable by gender, orientation, approximate age, location, and other filters. In the past week the response has been incredible. Check-ins have come in from 48 out of 50 states and from six continents!

They're calling the program, in which 55,000 QR-enabled condoms were distributed to community colleges, universities, and health centers "www.WhereDidYouWearIt.com" (and not, as an editor of ours suggested, "Where's Willy").

In any case, back to the porn industry:

Imagine if there were a program in which porn producers had to scan the condoms they were about to use into a database patrolled by the city. That way we wouldn't have to waste valuable LAPD time on prophylactic patrols:

And porn producers could cheat their asses off by not actually using the condoms they scanned.

Starting March 5, performers in pornography films shot in Los Angeles will be required to wear condoms. The Los Angeles City Council adopted the measure after concerns HIV had been transmitted among performers.

But the porn business is fighting back, threatening to take the multibillion dollar a year industry elsewhere. One Bakersfield woman though, isn't buying it.

"I believe it's a bluff," said Shelley Lubben.

She knows the porn industry well. She is a former porn actress who participated in about 30 adult movies. Along the way, though, she contracted sexually transmitted diseases that caused her to lose children and led to the removal of her cervix.

The porn industry is against the mandatory condom-use law because
it claims performers are regularly tested for HIV. But Lubben suspects the real reason the industry objects to the use of condoms is that it affects its bottom line. Films with actors wearing condoms don't sell as well.

The result is that performers' lives are put at risk, said Lubben.

"Everybody in the porn industry who's been there at least a few months has had an STD," said Lubben.

Once in the adult film business, Lubben is now an ardent watchdog of the industry. She is president of The Pink Cross Foundation, a faith-based organization that reaches out to workers in the porn industry.

It offers emotional support to both men and women, as well as rescuing women involved in prostitution. Some men have been helped, as well, said Lubben.

Should the porn industry be serious about relocating, Lubben said she and her group will follow and warn people about its dangers.

"I'm making good on that promise," said Lubben. "Pink Cross Foundation will be there."

R.I.P Davy Jones

Davy Jones -- forever young and forever beloved by fans the last 50 years -- has died, according to Reuters. Age: 66. The cause of death was apparently a heart attack.
Jones and his band the Monkees were in a brief moment and time very nearly as popular as the Beatles -- whom they so gently satirized and idolized in that long ago NBC hit. ("The Monkees," by the way, bowed Sept. 13, 1966 -- five days after "Star Trek" launched.)

Critics of course slammed 'em -- a Don Kirshner "Pre-Fab Four" gimmick whose four members couldn't sing or write their own songs or really even act. And of course critics totally missed the point: They certainly could sing (and had music careers before this came along) and in time learned to act pretty well, too. Jones was the impish, irrepressible "cute one" with the flop mop and "Manc" accent (he was from Manchester) that evoked the real Fab Four.

He was also -- even more than Peter Tork -- the one a generation of pre-teen girls fell deeply and irreversibly in love with (and one Marcia Brady, in particular).

The Monkees didn't survive television -- they WERE a television stunt after all -- but there are few sweeter or more utterly indelible memories of '60s TV than this show, and the wonderful sweet guy who banged away on the tambourine and sang "Daydream Believer" -- his signature all these long years (in the video below, Micky D does the tambourine.)

Like I stated before – Nick East is a game changer. I believe he will wind up revolutionizing our society’s mindset in many ways. Nick East gave me a VERY clear cut REASON for Christianity which was one of the most beautiful simplistic and amazingly powerful breakdowns I’ve ever heard – and I hope in time it will be included in his work. I read Nick’s screenplay at THE PERFECT time in my life. It was meant to happen and I’m very grateful for the opportunity and gift. The experience of reading The Orion Compass screenplay for me, was a validation of my life’s path which lead me to create Christian Pornstar.

Marston Hefner Charged In Alleged Beating Of Playmate Claire Sinclair

Hugh Hefner's oldest son has officially been charged with allegedly attacking his girlfriend, Claire Sinclair, according to TMZ.com.

A spokesperson for the Pasadena City Attorney's office told the entertainment website that Marston Hefner was charged Tuesday with one count of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Hefner was also reportedly charged with vandalism, for allegedly damaging Sinclair's laptop.

Hefner, 21, was arrested on Feb. 12. The 2011 Playmate of the Year reportedly told police that Hefner punched and kicked her, leaving her with bruises and red marks. Hefner denied the charges and was released on a $20,000 bond.

Earlier this month Sinclair said she would drop charges against Hefner if he apologized. However, as The Huffington Post first reported, authorities in California said they had the authority to pursue the charges with or without her cooperation.

"She cannot just drop the charges. The state does the prosecution," Lt. Phlunte Riddle of the Pasadena Police Department told The Huffington Post on Feb. 14.

"Obviously the court wants the cooperation of the victim, but because of issues of intimidation and women feeling powerless, the state of California can pursue the case [with or without her]," Riddle said.

According to Riddle, Sinclair obtained an emergency restraining order against Hefner.

Sinclair, 20, had been dating Hefner on and off since August 2010. She earned the legendary 52nd Playmate of the Year title at just 19. Hugh Hefner said that her style reminded him of Bettie Page, the famous 1950s pinup model, Fox News reported.

Earlier this month, the Playboy founder told People he hoped his son and Sinclair would work things out.

"If they care about each other, they'll patch it up," Hefner told the magazine.

If convicted on both counts, Marston Hefner faces up to a year-and-a-half behind bars.

Live Science reports that the imagined super-club features a zero-gravity dance club, a casino featuring 'human roulette' and a restaurant for fine dining as just some of the amenities envisioned by artist Thomas Tenery.
Writing on the science website, Playboy's editorial director Jimmy Jellinek said: 'As Virgin Galactic gets closer to becoming the world's first commercial space line, Playboy is eagerly pondering the creation of the ultimate intergalactic entertainment destination.

'This heaven-in-the-heavens will exceed starry-eyed travelers' wildest dreams, and guests will truly experience a party that's out of this world.'
Virgin Galactic have long-term plans to become the first passenger service that travels into space and is currently selling tickets at $200,000 for a seat on its first craft the SpaceShipTwo.

Further tests on the spacecraft are planned for later this year as the company investigates how realistic their plans are.

The Los Angeles city council has passed a law, to be enacted on March 5th, that all adult film actors must wear a condom while performing scenes within the LA city limits. The ruling came out of concerns for the health and safety of the actors involved, as well as a desire to not promote unsafe sex to the masses.

As the deadline nears, production companies are considering emigrating from Los Angeles to locales that don’t have such restrictions in place. Though it’s unlikely that the industry will emigrate en masse, there are many cities that would be both viable and desirable for porn film production. Many aren’t intuitive, but behind each location listed are some unique aspects that many may find to be more desirable than Los Angeles (which includes the valley districts of Chatsworth, Canoga Park, and many others).

I know very little about Gstaad, except that it’s a Swiss alpine city that rich people went to in the 1970’s and 80’s. As more and more Los Angeles cities slam the door on porn productions as a result of the recently adopted mandatory condom ordinance, Sin City may be the industry’s sanctuary and the new porn valley.

In a local CBS TV news report, local Vegas porn star Alura Jenson,who uses her home to shoot films said, "Oh, it's going to happen. I've already heard from several people. They are making arrangements to move themselves over here," she said. "Nobody likes to be told what to do. It should be a choice whether or not these performers want to wear condoms in their shoots."

The potential income from taxes and new jobs could have Vegas salivating at the idea.

"The contributions that the tax would bring to the city would really help in the recovery economically," Jenson said.

And favorable weather, low housing and real estate costs, established talent (dancers, etc.) along with close proximity to Los Angeles are all desirable factors that have recently surfaced as alluring incentives for L.A.'s porn valley to head east.

Porn is already being shot regularly in Vegas in sex clubs, businesses, homes, studios and hotel rooms, according to the report.

Some supporters think a new porn valley could arise in the nearby city of Pahrump — home to the legal brothel trade.

Another Vegas local, adult performer Gavin Steele also said plans are already in the works.

"There are some directors that want to move out to Las Vegas. I know a big company that relocated to Las Vegas already, and I think that's definitely going to happen.”

But Steele believes he doesn’t think that shooting in L.A. will completely die out.

Porn’s move to Vegas does have some credence.

Porn addiction treatment center set to open

Utah could soon have its first residential treatment center dedicated to treating pornography addiction.

The American Psychiatric Association doesn't classify excessive use of pornography as an addiction. But Mark Jorgensen is working to open a treatment center near St. George.

Jorgensen told The Spectrum porn is rampant throughout the country and people here recognize it as a problem. The Spectrum reports more than 100 people showed up to the facility's open house earlier this month.

Jorgensen says he will pattern his treatment center after one he attended in Mississippi and graduated from in 2010. The Utah facility, called Desert Solace, is meant to be "a therapy-intensive residential treatment center devoted exclusively to pornography addiction."

According to the Spectrum, Desert Solace plans to open in the spring. It will house eight patients at one time who will usually stay about 45 days. The program will feature art, equine, individual and group therapy sessions.

A New York City jury has awarded a former Playboy playmate $1.2 million for injuries she suffered during a 2006 scuffle with police based on a taxi driver’s false accusation that she was armed and dangerous.

Stephanie Adams claimed in a lawsuit that officers threw her on the ground at gunpoint after she got into an argument with the cabbie. She says the driver refused to help carry her bags into her apartment then called 911 and falsely told police she had a gun and was going to shoot him.

Adams says she suffered permanent neck and back injuries from the rough treatment.

ICM Registry, the company behind the new .XXX top-level domain, on Tuesday announced the details of the Adult Performer Program, which releases more than 3,500 .XXX domain names that were initially held in reserve to protect the individual name interests of performers and personalities within the adult entertainment industry.

“We recognized early on that a significant portion of the core success of the adult industry lies with its performers,” said Vaughn Liley, sales director for ICM Registry. “We also became aware that performers do not often have registered trademarks, nor do they retain legal representation to protect their trade name."

Liley continued, "The Adult Performers Program was born from the desire to make a conscious effort to protect these individuals who are truly at the core of the adult entertainment community. We offered a similar and unprecedented protection for existing adult domain owners as a part of our Sunrise A program in September and October of last year.

"We feel that these programs, along with our Rapid Evaluation Service (RES) dispute resolution policies, are a positive step toward protecting against infringement as well as a deterrent to would be cybersquatters. Egyptian Prime Minister Pushing to Ban Internet Porn

A prime minister of Egypt’s ultra-conservative al-Nour Salafist religious party is pushing for an all out ban on the country’s Internet porn sites.

According to reports, prime minister Younis Makhioun has requested an “urgent briefing” to be discussed in Egypt’s lower house.

"These sites spread evil among different sects of the Egyptian society, its content is criminalized by Egyptian law as well as being a breach of religious beliefs and social values and morals," Makhioun said.

Despite an outcry from some Egyptians about the loss of personal freedoms and the possibility of further censorship to non-porn sites, the prime minister stated that blocking adult sites should not be considered a breach of freedom of speech.

Others however, are supporting the ban.

In 2009, a ban on Egyptian porn sites was ordered by the administrative court, sparked by a lawsuit that called them “complicit” in spreading vice and conducting harm to society.

But the ministry of communication said it could not comply to the court order, stating the choice was up to individual users.

The new proposed ban is expected to pass the conservative Islamist-dominated parliament.

Egypt was reportedly listed in the number five spot globally in searching for the term “sex” online in 2011, joined by Algeria and Morocco also in the top 10, according to Google trends.

The Arabic language is reportedly used second only to English as the language of search choice for online adult content.

Rumors swirled all weekend on UFC news sites and blogs that UFC Octagon girl Chandella Powell may be fired because of soft core porn she did ten years ago. Powell, who has been an Octagon girl since 2009, had previously appeared nude in Playboy magazine, which seems to be a requirement for Octagon-girls-in-good-standing. Fellow Octagoner Brittany Palmer, whose 8-page pictorial is featured in the magazine's March 2012 issue, is just the latest of the current lineup to pose for Hugh Hefner's iconic mag.

"Palmer will be the fourth UFC card carrier to pose for Playboy, following queen bee Rachelle Leah (November 2008) and reigning princess Arianny Celeste (November 2010). Chandella Powell stripped for Playboy prior to joining the UFC," reported 5thround.com.

None of the reports explain exactly when and for whom Powell performed a decade ago, but the work was reportedly limited in scope and may have been a girl-girl shoot. SOPA replacement uses child porn as excuse to spy on 99.7 percent of Americans

The SOPA and PIPA bills that went down in flames earlier this year for their unbearable intrusiveness, used content piracy as an excuse to give the government powerful tools with which to censor Internet content.

For 2012 the primary author of those bills has switched to a fallback tactic: using child porn as an excuse to create a vast surveillance network from which the government can demand data on every email sent, site visited or link clicked on by all but a fraction of one percent of the U.S. population.

Internet anti-censorship advocates including Anonymous are calling for the ouster of Texas Congressman Lamar Smith, who is following his co-sponsorship of the failed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) with a bill critics call "Big Brother" disguised as an effort to curb child porn and sexual abuse.

Last May Smith, a Texas Republican credited as primary author of both SOPA and PIPA, the Senate version, also introduced H.R. 1981, a bill called the "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011″ (PCFIPA).

The anti-child-porn provisions in the bill are a "fig leaf for its true purpose: A sweeping data retention requirement meant to turn Internet Service Providers and online companies into surrogate snoops for the government’s convenience," according to Julian Sanchez, Internet privacy and censorship researcherat the center-right Cato Institute.

Smoke and mirrors concealing observers watching you from behind the smoky mirrors

The bill amends existing laws empowering the U.S. Marshals Service to issue subpoenas and chase fugitives.

The amendments expand the Marshals' ability to issue subpoenas and adds online pornographers to their list of top targets.

The important, though administrivia-looking part of the bill is this: "A provider of an electronic communication service... shall retain for a period of at least 18 months the temporarily assigned network addresses the service assigns to each account... records retained pursuant to section 2703(h) of title 18, United States Code..." – FCPIFA, H.R. 1981

ISPs are already required to keep some customers' activity records for 180 days, so this doesn't look like a big change.

Except, PCFIPA, HR 1981, requires ISPs keep track of every single IP address they assign (except to wireless users) and all the activity flowing across that link.

It doesn't limit itself to just ISPs, either. By addressing the bill to cover any company providing "electronic communications" or "remote computing" services, the bill effectively covers any site offering services online.

PCFIPA, HR 1981, reverses that point of view (as did PIPA and SOPA), to create a vast database of every action of ever American online – a deep pool of data on the activity of millions of Internet users, through whose private activity they can sift at will until they find something that looks like evidence of a crime.

That's exactly the opposite of the intent of the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution. The Fourth Amendment prevents police from searching, questioning, holding or otherwise harassing suspects unless a judge agrees there's a good reason to investigate a specific person for a specific crime.
Going beyond child pornographers to treat everyone like a criminal
Accusations that PCFIPA is a universal surveillance bill in disguise cite two specific problems with the bill:

The first is language in the existing federal law, which requires ISPs to provide, under warrant: all of a customer's Internet activity, including email, web browsing, downloads, IM, social networking and anything else done across the public Internet;
the customer's name address, phone number and IP address;
a list of all local and long distance phone calls;
a list of all electronic communications;
means of payment – all credit-card, bank account or other method the customer used to pay;
silence – ISPs under warrant or subpoena to give up private records aren't allowed to alert the customer.
The second is the phrase "unregistered sex offenders" and the power it gives the U.S. Marshals Service to issue its own subpoenas to investigate 99.762 percent of the U.S. population.

By addressing "unregistered sex offenders," Lamar Smith's PCFIPA expands its powers of comprehensive surveillance over everyone in the U.S. who has not already been convicted of a sex crime.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Map of Registered Sex Offenders (PDF) there are about 748,000 registered sex offenders in the United States and territories.

That's an average of 238 offenders per 100,000 who are not sex offenders – approximately .238 percent of the total U.S. population.

Since it is empowering U.S. Marshals to investigate people who have not yet been convicted, under PCFIPA, the only thing required to get a valid subpoena to examine all the online activity 99.762 percent of the U.S. population, is an investigating officer willing to say the subpoena has something to do with investigation of online child porn.

They don't even have to accuse a specific person or limit themselves to a specific geographic area. Geographically surveillance targets have to be within 500 miles of a specific target of investigation.

Online the bill allows for usage connections – anyone you called, who called you, any sites you may have visited or spammers who might have sent you email.

The requirement that ISPs and essentially every site on the Internet keep 18 months worth of records on every visitor would create a complete record of every site visited, every email sent, every link clicked on by every resident of the U.S. and its territories – a vast and comprehensive database of everything any American does online, into which curious cops can dip almost at will, whether they have a good reason to do so or not.

"The data retention mandate in this bill would treat every Internet user like a criminal and threaten the online privacy and free speech rights of every American," according to Kevin Bankston, an attorney for the Electronic Frontier Foundation. "Requiring Internet companies to redesign and reconfigure their systems to facilitate government surveillance of Americans' expressive activities is simply un-American."

“The bill is mislabeled,” Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) told CNET in July, when PCFIPA went through brief review in the House judicial committee. “This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It’s creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes.”

Smith argued in committee that the bill involved investigation only of those suspected of the sexual abuse of children.

No so, countered the ACLU, which argued it would actually impact "hundreds of millions of individuals who have no connection to the sexual exploitation of children whatsoever. ..There is nothing in the bill that would limit the use of these records to child exploitation cases," countered the American Civil Liberties Union, which sent a letter carrying protests from it and 29 other civil rights groups to Smith last summer, without result.

"In fact, the records would involve all internet users everywhere and they would be available to law enforcement for any purpose. This new mandate is a direct assault on the privacy of internet users," the letter said.
So what's the upshot?
There is no conclusion to this story yet.

PCFIPA, H.R. 1981, is on the House legislative calendar to be debated, changed, approved or denied sometime during the coming year.

Oddsmakers rate its chances as good, considering it sailed through committee by a vote of 19 to 10.

SOPA and PIPA had similarly good odds before being brought down in flames.

PCFIPA, HR 1981, should have much worse chances, considering that powers it grants are much more sweeping than those of either Internet censorship bill and that it adds a huge burden to both ISPs and anyone providing content or software services across the web.

Together the constituency opposing PCFIPA should be at least as large as that opposing SOPA and PIPA.

Opposing those two bills took a lot of effort and unity among independent-minded Internet users.

Both unity and the ability to project opposition appear to have dissipated in the weeks since.

Especially given the effort of Lamar Smith and his backers to conceal unconstitutional powers of surveillance and censorship behind child pornographer straw men, it's entirely possible HR 1981 will come up for a vote without nearly as much outcry for the 'net.

If that happens, all the complaining about privacy done by anyone online until now will be moot. PCFIPA requires your ISP to keep track of what you do when it can see you and requires other sites to keep records of what you do when it can't.

By comparison, losing your email password to a keylogger or having your iPhone give away your location data are small potatoes.

Lamar Smith wants to know more than a password or location. He wants to know what sites you click on, what spam you get, what sites you visit that you delete from your history cache so no one else can see them.

Lamar Smith wants to know who you email, who you text and what links you click on in blogs complaining about his irrational, insatiable need to spy on Americans who have done nothing wrong and nothing to arouse suspicion that they have.

Lamar Smith doesn't believe in innocent until proven guilty. Lamar Smith doesn't believe in innocent at all.

He only believes in "unregistered offenders" – meaning "those who haven't been caught yet.

Judge orders porn site to pay $4 million in piracy case

A judge has ordered the operators of a popular pornographic website to pay $4 million for copyright infringement to an Iowa-based adult film company — a ruling that should serve as a deterrent to others who pirate content online, a lawyer said Monday.

U.S. District Judge Mark Bennett in Cedar Rapids entered the judgment last week against Mark and Mina Faragalla of Beaumont, Calif., who operated PornVisit.com. He ordered them to pay the maximum damages of $150,000 per infringement to Norwood, Iowa-based FraserSide IP LLC, a subsidiary of Nevada-based adult entertainment company Private Media Group, and to stop stealing its copyrighted works.
"Simply having the word 'million' in a judgment sends a message — it is going to be better to comply with copyright laws than to make money from the work of others," said Phoenix attorney Chad Belville, who represents FraserSide. "The only way online piracy will truly be slowed or stopped is to take the financial incentive away."

Belville has filed numerous lawsuits on behalf of FraserSide in recent months as part of a campaign against websites that illegally profit from its intellectual property. FraserSide owns the copyrights to 75 adult films in the U.S. and other content that is distributed through Internet, television and DVD sales in 45 countries. He said the ruling against the Faragallas was one of the largest recent awards for piracy that he's heard about.
Judge Bennett called his ruling "a shot across the bow" against online piracy. He said PornVisit.com was visited by more than 500,000 Internet users daily, making it among the top 2,900 most popular sites in the world. Belville said PornVisit.com recently stopped operating, but its sister site, PornVisitHD.com, remains in business.

"The modern day pirates at issue in this litigation do not wear tricornes and extract their ill-gotten booty at cutlass point, but with a mouse and the internet. Nonetheless, their theft of property is every bit as lucrative as their brethren in the golden age of piracy," Bennett wrote.
From 2% to 3% of visitors to PornVisit.com bought memberships that ranged in cost from $3.95 for two days to $100 for six months, and the site made $720,000 per year in advertising revenue, Bennett said.

The site was "a cash cow, made all the more profitable by the fact that its product is the result of pirating copies of others' adult films," he said.
Bennett entered a default judgment against the Faragallas after they did not contest the lawsuit, but he still had to calculate the amount of damages. He said 19 FraserSide films were being unlawfully used by their site as of last August, and he awarded the maximum damages of $150,000 for each by finding the Faragallas' actions were willful for a total of $2.85 million. Bennett could have awarded as little as $750 for each infringement.

He awarded FraserSide an additional $1.14 million in damages for trademark claims based on what he called a conservative estimate of lost sales and the 1,500 members Pornvisit.com received from FraserSide films.

The Faragallas did not have an attorney. A man who answered the phone at the address where the lawsuit was served said they no longer live there.

Belville said he would try to collect the judgment by locating their assets, which he said includes two homes and the PornVisitHD.com site.

In the Feb 12, Show Cause Order (Hashmi_Stay_of_27Cases), the judge consolidated 27 of Hashmi’s cases and effectively places them on hold until the judge decides if they should be dismissed because Hashmi lives in Florida, but is not a member of the FL bar. The judge has also hinted that other sanctions may be appropriate for this offense.

The decision made by Judge Hinkle could lead to dismissals for each of the 27 cases involving some of the top studios in the adult entertainment business, including Elegant Angel, Third Degree, Media Products Inc., Wicked Pictures, Digital Sin, Devil's Film, Zero Tolerance, Metro Interactive LLC and others.

According to an XBiz story, Hinkle's order stays the proceedings and instructs counsel for the plaintiffs to cease all efforts to settle with the Doe defendants or collect on settlements related to these suits.

"Mr. Hashmi must show cause by March 9 why these cases should not be dismissed on the ground that he has no authority to practice law in Florida or in this court," Hinkle said in the order.

Los Angeles: Claire Sinclair, who was allegedly kicked and beaten by Hugh Hefner`s son Marston, is disassociating herself from Playboy.

A website has reported that sources close to the 20-year-old said that the model has cancelled all future Playboy-related appearances, events, and photo shoots pending the outcome of her domestic violence case with Marston.

Claire has hired attorney Keith Davidson who said: "We are taking this matter extremely seriously and we are completing a thorough investigation into this situation."

Marston, 21, was arrested Sunday night after allegedly kicking and punching Sinclair during an argument in their Pasadena, Los Angeles, California apartment. Sinclair said she wouldn`t press charges against him if he gave a public apology and got psychiatric help.

2 men from Florida get life for drugging & raping women in Miramar warehouse for porn

They were pursuing their modeling dreams, but wound up in a horrific nightmare — drugged and raped, their sexual assaults caught on video and then posted on Internet sex sites around the world and sold in porn shops.

Some of the women woke up in their cars or hotels, bleeding or covered in vomit, drugged and unable to move, remembering only snippets of being sexually abused by a strange man.

Others had no memory of the assaults and only began to piece together what happened when strangers, who tracked them down using ID cards and other information on the videos, phoned or sent them messages on Facebook claiming to be fans of their "performances."

On Thursday, several of the victims confronted Lavont Flanders Jr. and Emerson Callum at their sentencing hearing in federal court in Miami.

A federal jury last year found the two men guilty of numerous counts, including enticing the women to South Florida, knowing that fraud would be used to make the women take part in commercial sex acts. Flanders was also convicted of five counts of distributing a date rape drug to the women.

Seven women testifed at the trial, but federal prosecutors said the investigation revealed a staggering number of offenses between 2006 and 2011.

About 50 women reported similar crimes by Flanders and Callum, prosecutors told the judge. Phone records showed they contacted 100 women in the year before federal agents arrested them in August.

Girls at a Boston area Vocational High School are a little more than upset after it was discovered that a porn site had been using their Facebook photos without their knowledge or consent.

CBS Boston reports that photos from the accounts of 17 different Bay Path Regional school were lifted and displayed on a porn site. Local officials say that they believe the specific porn site is based in another country, and that it could be the same site that they had shut down before. Federal investigators are saying that if so, they will try to shut it down again.

The photos featured the girls (some as young as 14) fully clothed, and it is unclear exactly how the porn site was using them. But officials say that some of their personal information was also posted on the site alongside their photos. They also said that the site in question was found to have actual child pornography.

“The fact that someone could do that, I don’t understand why someone would do that to me,” says McKenna Daniels, one of the girls who had her photos posted on the site.

As tough as this is for the girls, the lack of jurisdiction means that there might not be much that any prosecutor can do.

It’s also a question as to the exact illegality of the porn site’s actions. If they were promoting actual child pornography, that of course is illegal. But lifting images from Facebook isn’t a crime in and of itself. Facebook’s Terms of Service clearly outline the life cycle of any photograph you post on the site (bold added for emphasis):

For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it.

When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture).

Basically, once you put it out there publicly on a social media site, it becomes just that – public.

This story is reminiscent of one we told you about last year. A woman in the UK discovered that her Facebook photos were being used on a specialty porn site – for amputee fetishes. In her case, her exposure led to lewd Facebook correspondences and other unwanted internet advances.

Of course, in the high school girls’ case, other laws take over if the images were being altered to make them appear nude or something like that. But the moral of this story is that posting a photo on the internet (publicly) is like mailing a copy of that photo to everyone in the world. You can edit your settings to disallow the downloading of your photos, but anyone can just take a screenshot of your images. The only real way to prevent something like this from happening to you is to ramp up your privacy controls.

It's not an easy thing to talk about, but Playboy Playmate Claire Sinclair finds it necessary to be candid about her recent alleged attack from boyfriend Marston Hefner in hopes that other women will learn from it.

Sinclair opened up about the whole dispute to E! News today, beginning with her version of Sunday night's altercation.

"We had just freshly moved into the apartment, and I know Marston was a little stressed out about it, and Marston has been unstable throughout the whole course of our relationship…and we got into an argument about something really silly and it kind of escalated and it became violent," she told us.

Shy Love Denounces Ideal Image Management Statements as Allegations and Not Fact

Tuesday night, T Reel, on behalf of Ideal Image Management, put up a YouTube clip making allegations against ALTA [The Agency Licensed Trade Association]. The five-minute clip was subsequently yanked.

One would presume the T Reel show was a retaliatory strike against ALTA which last week issued their own press release stating that Ideal isn't licensed as a talent agency. Ideal, then in response to those comments, issued a statement of their own saying they were working on the licensing issues and that by the end of February their papers would be in order.

I'm told by sources close to the California Labor Commission that this isn't so; that there's no paper work even designating Ideal as a prospective licensed and bonded agency.

Meanwhile Shy Love, on behalf of ALTA, says that all of Reel's allegations have no basis in fact. Love says all of the agencies under the ALTA umbrella signed agreements that they'd operate their businesses in accordance with the law and anyone overstepping their legal, ethical and moral grounds would be sanctioned and reported.

Love took exception to comments made by Reel alleging that ALTA agencies were somehow involved in identity theft, check fraud, submitting false IDS, escorting and that agents within ALTA were having sex with their clients in exchange for work.

"He's [Reel] not thinking straight," states Love.

"There's no proof of any of this. We're very protective of our talent and the industry, and no one's going to jeopardize that."

In the now-removed YouTube clip Reel begins by establishing Ideal Image Management's credentials and how it presumably maintains a staff of drivers, schedulers, recruiters, lawyers, accountants and in-house PR.

"We have over 2200 contacts in mainstream and adult," says Reel in the clip.

"We've been in constant contact with the labor board and we're aware of the California legal code for licensing and bonding.

"We've also studied our competitors for over a year and have been advised by our legal counsel on how to run a better business," he continues.

Reel went on to say that within the past few months, several models from other agencies allegedly had sit-downs with him, his partners and staff to talk about their current representation.

"They've made claims about wrong doing by their agents," Reel alleges.

"Allegations have included check fraud, identity theft, submission of false IDs, false imprisonment, making models have sex with agents in order to get work; and agents sending models in state and out of state to escort calls."

"These acts are not only morally wrong but are illegal," states Reel.

"These agents can lose their licenses and bondings because of it."

On the other hand, Reel claims that Ideal Image Management doesn't resort to those practices.

"We run background checks on our staff and we have terminated relationships with people inside and outside of our company that don't live up to our standards."

"We will not be bullied as a company," maintains Reel.

"We will do everything in our power to protect ourselves, our talent and our reputations."

Reel suggested that any talent that's aware of wrong doing by their agents should contact law enforcement.

"You do not have to wait until your contract's up if your agent has broken any laws or broken any labor code."

Simi Valley is researching whether it can put the onus of enforcing a proposed porn condom ordinance on adult industry producers who shoot in town.

The city is considering amending the proposed measure to require porn makers, as a condition of receiving a filming permit, to have a health care professional on their sets to observe whether the male performers are wearing condoms during sex acts. The producer would have to submit to the city a notarized affidavit by the health care professional stating that the male performers were in compliance.

Within a specified time period, the producer would be required to submit a copy of the unedited version of the video to the Simi Valley Police Department, which would view it to make sure the male performers were wearing condoms. If compliance is confirmed, police would then destroy the footage.

"The object of this proposed language is to take the policing off the city and put it back on the porn industry," Mayor Bob Huber [pictured] said Tuesday.

City Attorney Tracy Noonan is researching whether there are any legal restrictions on the amendment, Huber said. To give her time to do so, the proposed ordinance was not introduced at Monday night's City Council meeting as originally scheduled. It is now expected to be introduced at the council's Feb. 27 meeting, adopted at a subsequent meeting and go into effect 31 days afterward. The council previously has indicated it intends to adopt it.

The proposed ordinance was drafted at the urging of Huber after the Los Angeles City Council approved a similar mandatory porn condom ordinance Jan. 17, prompting speculation that porn studios might start shooting in nearby Simi Valley and other area cities where they could make videos without condoms. The studios say their viewers are turned off by condoms.

The measure's stated aim is to protect porn performers from contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. But Huber has said it's underlying purpose is to send a message to the adult video industry in the neighboring San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles that it's not welcome in "family-centered" Simi Valley.

Hugh Hefner's oldest son Marston Hefner was arrested last night after he allegedly attacked his Playmate of the Year girlfriend Claire Sinclair ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops were called to the pad Marston shares with Sinclair in Pasadena, CA after one of Sinclair's family members called 911, claiming Marston had attacked her.

Cops arrived to the scene ... and we're told officers observed visible injuries on Sinclair's body ... including bruises and red marks.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Marston admitted the two had gotten into an argument ... but did not cop to striking Sinclair.

Sources tell us ... Sinclair told cops Marston had punched her, kicked her in the stomach and then refused to let her leave the residence. We're told Sinclair called family members after the alleged attack ... and her family called the cops.

After a brief investigation, Marston was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence at around 11:15 PM ... and hauled to a nearby police station where he was booked.

Marston was released on $20,000 bail a few hours later.

20-year-old Sinclair was named PMOY in 2011. She has been dating Marston on-and-off since August 2010.

PETA's .XXX Domains Porn Site Now Accepting Signups

PETA's announcement late last summer that it planned to reserve one of the new .xxx domain extensions was met with both scorn and amusement. The animal rights organization, well-known for using clever marketing strategies to spread its messages, said the intention for the domain was to create a "pornography site that draws attention to the plight of animals."

Naturally, the media and people alike were curious as to what such a mix might mean for content. In the early months, I wasn't even sure if PETA exactly knew. And we have ample examples of men who have appeared in them, too. They just don't get the same press. We pretty much do anything and everything. Stephanie Adams, 40, and the November 1992 Playmate, alleges police drew their guns on her and with unnecessary force shoved her face to the pavement causing physical injury after her taxi driver accused her as being armed and dangerous.

According to the New York Post
, the driver, Eric Darko, later told city investigators that he believed Ms Adams was a vampire.

Once known as the first openly lesbian Playboy Playmate, and now a married-to-a-man mum, Ms Adams was taking the taxi driven by Mr Darko on May 25 back her to apartment when he refused to bring her any closer to her building, according to Ms Adams.

He then began cursing at her, prompting her to call emergency services, which Mr Darko did also.

While on the phone with the NYPD, Mr Darko told the operator that Ms Adams had threatened to shoot him leading to her rough handling at their arrival.

Ms Adams' trial Lawyer Nina Neumunz in court stated that the physical force was unnecessary with the tight-fitting clothing Ms Adams was wearing.

"It was a controlled drop to the ground," Sgt John Rajan testified in court, saying Ms Adams did not initially comply to his instructions to lie face down.

"We didn't know if she had a firearm," he said.

Acknowledging her attire, Sgt Rajan said they did not need to frisk her as "she was wearing tight-fitting clothing and there was no place to conceal a weapon."

Ms Adams' trial Lawyer Nina Neumunz in court stated that the physical force was unnecessary with the tight-fitting clothing Ms Adams was wearing.

A doctor for Ms Adams testified that the incident injured spinal discs causing her serious back pain.

Ms Adams previously sued Mr Darko for falsely accusing her as armed during the 2006 incident, according to NJ.com, causing his license to be revoked by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission the same year.

He was also fined $2,700.

It appears that ex pornstar Nick East (a Michael J. Fox looking guy who was active in porn from 1991 to 2010 according to IAFD.com and who wrote a book entitled The Orion Compass) has returned to the porn blog comment threads to have some heated words with pornstar Jeremy Steele (yet another Michael J. Fox clone, but with a receding hairline - who has been active since 1996).

Though their conflict initially seemed to be over a blog post entitled "Nick East Is A Douchebag" from Darrah Ford's blog, Pornstar Babylon, it appears as though there's been friction between these two dating back to when Pornwikileak's backer Michael Tierney (an ex friend of Jeremy Steele) was in the business (pre "Joe Blow" era).

It seems as though Jeremy Steele may have crossed legal lines by recording and then posting a telephone conversation between himself and Nick East...

What I find interesting about Jeremy's end of the recorded conversation is his phrase "actually I was always nice to you" which is heard at the beginning of the conversation.

I have to question the validity and honesty of Jeremy Steele considering the tone of his voice, and that key phrase - "nice to you" - namely because I have heard it before first hand in threats he left me via voicemail several months ago (skip to timecodes 1:15 , 2:30 , 3:08 and ) of which he discusses pornstars Mercedes Ashley and Lucky Starr, porn industry photographer/blogger Tara Akinlose and porn director Will Ryder / Jeff Mullen.

I'm under the impression (from personal experience) that Jeremy Steele is not familiar with the concept of "appropriate behavior". As you can see in the video below, I did create a video piece with him back when I lived in Hollywood, CA - however afterwards I felt he acted inappropriately in a manner that I definitely wouldn't have defined as "nice" (he exposed himself unprompted in my apartment).

When I chose to call Jeremy Steele out in regards to his behavior - as you can hear in the voicemails he left me, he became very threatening, aggressive and claimed that details I recounted were lies, when in fact they were not (a psychological technique called "gas lighting).

I personally think that it's time for Jeremy Steele to accept some accountability for his statements and actions - he has a track record now ( of Nick East, Sophia Mounds, Mercedes Ashley, (myself) Monica Foster and I'm sure many others) of harassing and wronging people, but later crying "you're crazy, you're stupid, you're a liar" when they call him out and/or fight back.

Unfortunately certain individuals in the porn industry such as Will Ryder / Jeff Mullen and (in the past) Michael Tierney MAY have enabled and indulged Jeremy's behavior due to his having low rates as a male talent, his willingness to psychologically and verbally berate anyone who speaks up for themselves, and possibly his willingness to participate in bisexual or homosexual activity behind closed doors.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here - Nick East has nothing to gain from posting on a porn blog (being he's not in the LA porn circuit anymore), where as Jeremy Steele does...

Looks like that hillbilly website got its "inside" info all wrong.

LONDON — A hacker claims to have compromised the personal information of more than 350,000 users after breaking into a disused website operated by pornography provider Brazzers.

Kate Miller, director of communications for site owner Manwin Holding SARL, said Saturday it was "currently investigating the issue" but that no credit card information has been leaked.

Miller said it appeared that the hacker had gained access to an inactive forum to help enter other, linked websites. She said she couldn't put a figure on the number of people potentially affected and declined to say whether customers were being warned of the breach, citing security reasons.

In an email, she said that security was "a priority at all times" and that the company would do all it could to safeguard its users' information. The email went on to blame the hacker for "illegal and prohibited cyber criminal activities."

The breach is a potential embarrassment for Luxembourg-based Manwin, which runs some of the world's best-known pornography websites.

A small sample of the hundreds of thousands of pieces of user data allegedly compromised were posted to the Internet earlier this week. Emails, usernames, and encrypted passwords were divulged, and in some cases it was possible to infer porn users' full names and country of origin.

The hacker claiming responsibility for the breach told The Associated Press that he carried out the attack to draw attention to the site's vulnerability.

"I didn't do that for any money," he said in an email.

He identified himself only as a 17-year-old living in Morocco and claimed allegiance to Anonymous, the global movement of cyber-mischief-makers who have carried out embarrassing attacks on record companies, the Church of Scientology, and the FBI.
